Therapy
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, I am trained in a wide variety of therapeutic tools and techniques. We have found that using a variety of therapies in a flexible and adaptable manner aids progress. For example, we can use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as a stand-alone therapy or weave CBT through hypnotherapy sessions: Hypno Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (HCBT).
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR) can be very effective with certain self-defeating behaviours when used in conjunction with HCBT. During Anger Management Therapy we tend to use HCBT. Needless to say: therapy is adapted to the individual’s needs and progress. Ecotherapy is a therapy where we walk, talk, listen and hear in a local peaceful place of nature. Once the session has been booked it will go ahead rain or shine, just ensure you are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. I offer this therapy midmorning one day per month.
Hypnotherapy is a therapy which engages both the conscious and the subconscious mind. When someone is in the hypnotic trance state, they are in a deep relaxed state, still aware of their surroundings and always in control of themselves. I tend to record the hypnotherapy session and ask the client to listen to the recording at their leisure in the comfort of their own home. This compounds the treatment and helps the client relax deeper in the follow-up sessions – very beneficial for the client’s total wellbeing.
Whether you experience a lack of confidence, low self-esteem, trouble sleeping or a self-defeating habit therapy can help you overcome it. Due to the stressful nature of modern day living many people struggle with excessive anxiety, unfounded angst, panic attacks and phobias. Phobias are quite common in the modern world. Nomophobia (an excessive fear of being without a mobile phone) in particular is on the rise. Nomophobia is also called techno-stress or ringxiety. Mobiles are very useful in today’s busy lives, yet constantly attending to a phone is holding people back: academically, socially and emotionally. Fortunately they can be effectively treated using Hypnotherapy.
Hypnotherapy tends to be the preferred therapy choice with most excessive fears and phobias. Coping strategies can be learned whilst we work on the underlying reason as to why someone suffers from excessive anxieties and fears.
Learning the art of deep relaxation is part of hypnotherapy and is very beneficial for one’s wellbeing. It helps to diminish unnecessary stress and helps you manage unavoidable stress.
